Day in the Life is a mixed reality VR experience celebrating the Vauxhall community in Luton commissioned for Luton Made: Vauxhall by Luton Council and supported by the Heritage Fund.

Inspired by the archival material and oral history collected for the Luton Made: Vauxhall exhibition, the experience combines the narrative-based game format with a celebration of local history. The visitor journey begins with the selection of a car avatar to become a time-traveller attending key community events from Vauxhall's history. As part of the experience, the viewers meet Vauxhall workers, attend events such as sports days and children birthday parties, and visit the canteen to experience the sale of the company.
The time-travel stops let the visitors experience key historical moments on the production line, migration, vehicle design development and Vauxhall’s contributions during the Second World War. As the visitors navigate through the storyline, they acquire key items that represent the history of Vauxhall in Luton. The gamified experience is complete when the visitor has collected all of the items bringing the time-traveller back to the present.
