Who we are
James Stephen Wright is an artist who studied on the Environmental Art course at Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 2011. Since then, he participated in residencies in Spain, Switzerland and Germany and completed a MA in Contemporary Art at Edinburgh University in 2018. In his practice, he works with new technologies and digital spaces. Additionally he is an online marketing specialist and website developer. In 2020, he founded Strange Quark Creative with the aim to create immersive data-driven digital experiences and won a Creative Enterprise award by Edinburgh Innovations.
Polina Chizhova is a curator, artist and writer. She studied at the Humboldt University Berlin, the University of Zurich and the University of Edinburgh. She has over 5 years of professional experience in the art world in various roles in Switzerland and the UK. She is also an experienced writer, translator and copywriter. She joined Strange Quark Creative in August 2020. Polina is currenlty completing a PhD in Curating at Manchester Metropolitan Univeristy, researching socially-engaged practices and tech-driven cities.
